Indian Oiltanking, founded in 1997, is a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Oiltanking GmbH. The first step for Indian Oiltanking into the market of liquid bulk storage was completed in 1998 with the construction of a new deep sea terminal in the town of Navghar, located close to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port, near Mumbai (formerly Bombay). Mumbai is one of the largest cities in India, making it an important strategic base for the western Indian subcontinent. The terminal is well connected to national highways and railways. Vessels up to 60,000 DWT can receive or discharge product via the two jetties. Inland locations are supplied by 16 fully automated tank-truck-loading bays and a state-of-the-art rail car loading and unloading facility.
