SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research) is a R & D Laboratory under the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India.     SAMEER Kolkata Centre has been pursuing its objective of doing advanced research and development in the areas of RF, Microwave & Millimeter Wave Technology, EMI/EMC and relating these to user requirements by undertaking R & D projects and providing consultancy services. Through the medium of these projects & services, the Centre has increased its interaction with Industries and Public Sector Units and contributed to their growth.

Features : Measurement distance can be set 3M and Rx antenna height can be varied from 1M to 4M. 360º azimuth rotation of the EUT can be given. Applications : Electrical or electronics product with input current less than 20A. Users : Industries in and around Kolkata and Eastern India. Radiated emission can be measured from 30MHz to 1 GHz. : Radiated Susceptibility Test Facility : Service name : Radiated susceptibility test of electrical or electronic product as per IEC 61000-4-3 standard. Features : Measurement distance can be set 3M and Field upto 10 V/M can be created on the EUT. Field uniformity better than 6dB for 75% or more test points. Applications : Measurement distance can be set 3M and Field upto 10 V/M can be created on the EUT. Field uniformity better than 6dB for 75% or more test points. Other Detail : Radiated susceptibility can be tested from 80MHz to 1 GHz and sine wave modulation at 1KHz with 80% modulation depth. : Magnetic Field Immunity Test Facility : Service name : Magnetic field Immunity test of electrical or electronic product as per IEC 61000-4-8 standard. Features : Field Immunity can be tested at 50Hz. Severity level can be upto 300 A/m for continuous and upto 1000 A/m for short duration. Applications : Electronics product with CRT display with input current less than 20A. Users : Industries in and around Kolkata and Eastern India. Other Detail : Immunity can be tested at power line frequency and field strength upto 5 Gauss. : Conducted Emission Measurement Facility : Service name : Measurement of conducted emission from electrical or electronic product as per CISPR 11,22 FCC part 15 standard. Features : Conducted emission measurement of 3 phase EUT is possible and input current upto 25A. Applications : Electrical or electronics product. Other Detail : Conducted Emission can be measured from 150KHz to 30MHz and also as per FCC standard. : Electro Static Discharge Test Facility : Service name : ESD test of electrical or electronic product as per IEC 61000-4-2 standard. Features : The severity level for air discharge is upto ±15 KV and contact discharge is upto ±8 KV. Pulse rise time is between 0.7nS to 1nS. Applications : Electronic equipment sensitive to static discharge. Users : Railway vendors and other Industries in and around Kolkata and Eastern India. Features : Pulse Rise time is 5 nS, Pulse width is 50 nS, Burst duration is 15 mS, Burst Period is 300 mS and Test voltage upto ± 4 KV Applications : Electrical or electronic equipment with input current less than 16A. Other Detail : EFT/Burst of EUT can be carried out upto ±4 KV and upto 5 KHz repetition rate. : High Energy Surge Immunity Test Facility : Service name : High energy surge immunity test of electrical or electronic product as per IEC 61000-4-5 standard. Features : Pulse Rise time is 1.2 mS, Pulse width is 50 mS and Test voltage upto ± 4 KV. Applications : Electrical or electronic equipment with input current less than 16A. Other Detail : Surge generator can deliver 1.2/50mS voltage surge across high load resistance and 8/20mS current surge into a short circuit. : Harmonics Emission Measurement Facility : Service name : Measurement of Harmonic current emission from electrical or electronic product as per IEC 61000-3-2 standard. Features : 5KVA programmable source and automated measurement. Applications : Electrical or electronic equipment with input current less than 16A.
