Quality personnel as back-seat drivers?

Paul - thanks for the update. The ISO website still shows it at
Stage: 40.60 (2009-01-02)

I'll contact our NSB and see what changes were made.

I'm interested. The 9004 standard is a very good document. I hope it will be after the revison. Most of my ISO 9001 clients use it internally, many of them in place of the 9001 book.

Anyone who is involved with ISO 9001, that has not read it, I can categorically recommend you get a copy. It is worth reading by the whole management team, especially if you are at a company that does not think ISO 9001 provides much benefit.

It is that good!

Thanks, Paul.

Yes. The vote was Friday and there is a bit of editing to do before it is sent out for comment. Only then will the ISO stage change. The important thing is it got through the member ballot.

Thanks, Paul.
I agree, it is a good document and whilst I am sure the 'new' 9004 will be very useful, I would have liked to see the 2000 version updated and retained whilst the new one sits alongside, say 9004-2.

Still, we can still use the good info in the 2000 version alongside 9001:2008 as the changes were not substantial.
