contaminant screening - Food products

The Smiths Detection line of X-ray inspection systems evaluates your
product for contaminants such as metal, glass, stone and bone. By
installing Eagle Systems in your process you can be assured that you
meet today’s HACCP requirements and that you and your customers are
well protected. But in addition to contaminant detection, our X-ray
inspection systems also have the ability to check-weigh, evaluate
compartmentalized fill level and fat analysis.

Swab testing of personnel and plant area
Hi everyone! I'm Donna Joy Escalante, a QA analyst for a medium sized
company in Manila, Philippines.  Recently, the company I'm working for
started to include microbial testing for the evaluation of plant sanitation
and hygienic measures. Since we've just started to include it in our
company, I am having difficulty in creating the suitable tests for our
meat processing and powder divisions. We are using the 3M Quick Swab
Kit for personnel and machines then plate it on APC, E.coli/coliform, and
staph express plates (also from 3M).  I would like to know if there are
tests better suited for meat processing and for powdered drink mixes. Is
APC, E.coli and Staph sufficient for hand swabbing and machine
evaluation? Can anyone suggest other tests since we have a wet and
dry production areas?
