ICMQ
I am glad to introduce my company vide a presentation herewith attached along with a brief on Management system certification focused in the field of Construction and building materials (Cement, lime, plaster, concrete, ready mix concrete, plaster, mortars, fiber cement etc.).
ICMQ Certification India (www.icmq.in) is the local subsidiary of a leading Italian Certification and Inspection Body providing services only in the construction industry.
ICMQ India certification schemes referred to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Safety) are developing very fast being based on an integrated approach (Application Guidelines + Check List + Specialized Auditors) combining standards’ requirements with technical and product specification according to Indian Standards.
1) Accreditation: we completed the Accreditation process with NABCB, a part of Quality Council of India-QCI (www.qcin.org) as Certification Body for Quality Management System in the sectors shown above in accordance with ISO 17021.
2) References: we completed the certification process of a first batch of RMC plants on behalf of MMRDA (including major players like L&T, Relcon, Simplex, J Kumar and we've been required to extend this approach to all MMRDA concrete suppliers in Infrastructure Works in Maharashtra
3) Results: we certified more than 10 commercial RMC plants, more than 50 are in the pipeline across India and we're receiving an increasing number of inquiries. The opportunity of synergies with RMC plant certification is very high.
4) Application Guidelines: ICMQ India completed the Application Guide (and related check lists) for implementing and certifying according to ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety management system) in RMC plants. According to Italian experience we are ready to certify an Integrated Management System in Cement and RMC plants.
5) In progress: ICMQ India is currently completing the Application Guide for implementing ISO 9001 in “Aggregates”, “Cement manufacturing” and “Construction”. ICMQ India is also in process of completing an Application Guide for implementing OHSAS 18001 in Construction and Application Guide for ISO 14001 –Environment management system in RMC Plants.
6) Third party inspection recognition: we have been approved by QCI as "Third Party inspection body in infrastructure works" and we are in the process of accreditation from NABCB as Third Party Inspection Body in Construction and Infrastructure (according to ISO 17020).
7) Government Bodies Empanelment: we have been empanelled from many Government Bodies across India (and we're still continuing) as Third Party Inspection body for infrastructure works. Many Government Bodies are interested to repeat the same MMRDA experience for certifying their building material suppliers.
We are strongly committed to repeat, also in India, the same success story already done in Italy and Europe where we have a complete leadership in Cement, Aggregates and RMC plant certification combining standard approach (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) with technical requirements according to Indian Standards.
8) Advisory Council: The current Advisory Council member list includes CREDAI, MCHI (Developers), ICI (Indian Concrete Institute), IICCI (Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce), IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education), NICMAR etc.
We are also in process to invite other associations in our Advisory Council like National Association of building material manufactures, builders, developers and professional associations involved with Construction fraternity.
We believe that the involvement of all interested party is very important to enhance independence and impartiality of all our services.
I would like to outline here that we are independent Certification and Inspection Body (third party) and our certificate is internationally recognized unlike any other certifications from an association (second party).
The intent of quality management system for plants is to ensure adequate controls and quality concrete, cement or related products consistently at all the time. It is more of a quality assurance which takes into account all the processes of the organisation with management commitment and responsibility and accountability integrated to the existing technical issues. A similar approach is applied for environmental and health and safety standards.
