Blackout in Maharashtra due to western power grid collapse  Press Trust of India Mumbai, November 5    Power supply to the western parts of Maharashtra, except Mumbai, was severely affected following a grid collapse on Wednesday morning.  "Following the grid collapse, power supply was disrupted at 10.30 am and we are trying to restart the generating station," Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) chairman Ashok Basak said.  Basak said, "We expect the supply to be restored soon. We are analysing the cause for disruption."  Meanwhile, MSEB sources said low voltage followed by tripping of the Parali-Chandrapur line led to the disruption in power supply.
